Each year this is the largest Agile event in the world, and although this edition was virtual because of the pandemic, it\u2019s still one of the most exciting conferences in the Agile community.<\/p><p>Our workshop, \u201c<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/events.agilealliance.org\/agile2021\/session\/520480\/design-thinking-out-of-the-box?i=2euna0yrL_bncmbDCtwtM4xN9ZwC5xki\">(Design) Thinking Out of the Box<\/a><\/strong>\u201d, was ideated for participants to experience the design thinking process and experiment with applying it at the organizational level. The design thinking workshop was built around a generic problem that the attendees themselves were experiencing: finding a work-life balance.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-525558a elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"525558a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">What is Design Thinking?\u00a0<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c8a42f3 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c8a42f3\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>First, let\u2019s back up for just a second to define Design Thinking. Design Thinking is a people-centered approach to finding solutions to complex problems. What does that mean? Instead of focusing on whether or not an idea is technically possible or if it is economically viable, Design Thinking starts by finding out what the user really wants and what they really need.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d1d541f elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"d1d541f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"image.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/netmind-staging.bts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/elementor\/thumbs\/Design-Thinking_EN-rjolwnwkmbjahirzm2vvd0mtg1wk6h3ziw6ugtt378.png\" title=\"Design-Thinking_EN\" alt=\"Design-Thinking_EN\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-058b664 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"058b664\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Design Thinking Workshop<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9228442 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"9228442\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Design Thinking uses the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.designcouncil.org.uk\/news-opinion\/design-process-what-double-diamond\"><strong>Double Diamond<\/strong><\/a> (created by the British company, Design Council) to move through its phases.<\/p><p>Since our design thinking workshop was only 50 minutes long, we dedicated the first 10 minutes to explain what is Design Thinking, and approximately 35 minutes to going through the process of the Design Thinking process, and covering the phases of Discover, Define, Ideate and Prototype. We did not include the Test phase for timing reasons. An image of the Miro board for each Phase is presented below. As depicted above, the groups joined the main room after each phase to reset and ask questions.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">First, Define Roles<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div
